Parents & Athletes

PARENT INVOLVEMENT

Parents can play many roles in sports: current or former athletes, coaches, fans, motivators, role models or critics. A few studies have shown that family members may influence an athlete’s involvement and achievement in sports more than coaches. Parents also are the first and most critical agents for socializing sports; we ask that you remain your players’ biggest fans/role models and let the coaches do the coaching.

Lower Cape Lax: Code of Conduct

The Lower Cape Youth Lacrosse organization strives to uphold high standards of sportsmanship, integrity and ethics to benefit the youth in our program. We ask that you support our efforts in emphasizing the importance of what is expected from our players, families, and coaches at practices and games as both competitors and spectators.

Please keep in mind that we DO NOT tolerate derogatory language or actions by athletes or spectators against any team mate, coach, spectator, volunteer, or official. Offenses will be reviewed by the Board of Directors and penalties can include game/practice suspension to expulsion from the program depending on the severity of the offense.

By completing the season's registration, and digitally signing the code of Conduct acknowledgement and agreement, all members who join Lower Cape Lacrosse agree to abide by the rules and regulations set forth, and to be subject to the consequences of violating the Code of Conduct.
