Junior Official
Boys Lacrosse Junior Official:
Junior Official Certification is for anybody that is between the ages of 14 and 18 who wishes to officiate lacrosse games. It is recommended that junior officials only officiate youth games for players that are at least two age levels below their age.
Girls Lacrosse Junior Official:
Grades 1/2 and 3/4 games are officiated by Junior Umpires, Grades 5/6 & 7/8 games are officiated by Adult Officials. Junior Umpires can also be the 2nd official for a 5/6 and 7/8 game.
How do I sign up and get certified?
Active USA Lacrosse Membership with Official Participation. This grants you access to online courses and resources.
Complete the Lacrosse Rules Online Course.
Annual professional development course - this is an annual online learning component that must be completed by all officials.
Annual Online Rules Exam - all officials obtain a score of 90% or higher to pass.
Pass the Junior Officials Field Evaluation.

Complete the online training course.
Register and specify which towns you can referee for this season.
EMWLUA Course
(Eastern Massachusetts Women’s Lacrosse Umpiring Association)
Organizes and represents women’s lacrosse umpires of Eastern Massachusetts
Improves the quality and quantity of umpires
Schedules qualified umpires for women’s games
Ensures the rights and responsibilities of members holding current US Lax ratings.
